This is an international association based in Japan and is founded by the Grandmaster Maasaki Hatsumi. “Bujinkan Dojo” can be translated as, “Warrior Gods Training Hall” and is the study of 9 ancient martial art schools. Basically the same clothes you wear to the gym is fine for training in this martial art. Ideally a black karate uniform is worn for this training (similar to a Judo uniform, only lighter in weight). However, just some comfortable track pants, T-shirt and joggers is fine .  We have a more information on our Beginner’s page and also detailed information about the clothing worn in Bujinkan under our Weapon’s and Clothing page.

The training is catered to meet one’s ability in all aspects of the training, depending on what you want to achieve though learning this art.

There are good and bad aspects to having a back ground in other martial art styles. Having studied other training styles gives you awareness of your own balance, timing and distance, however, studying something entirely different can make it difficult to let go of habbits you developed in that/those styles. Having no training background is like “a blank canvas” and learning from scratch.

To be trained or untrained is fine!

Membership cost is $150 annually and that includes – Full uniform, a membership card from Japan (The Hombu; allowing you to train in any Bujinkan Dojo in the world), training manuals and insurance. It’s not necessary to pay straight away for a membership, you have a few lessons to try the training and see if you enjoy it or not. If you have already trained in Bujinkan and don’t require a uniform or manuals, the annual fee is $100.

The cost per lesson is $20. To save money, We have training tickets to purchase, which are as follows;

• Option 1 – 4 for $70 (saving = $10)
• Option 2 – 6 for $100 (saving = $20)
• Option 3 – 8 for $120 (saving = $40)
• Option 4 – 16 for $250 (saving = $70)

Tickets on date of purchase are valid for 2 months.
